The Centre for HOPE will be a centre for arts and disability that will be established in Lagos, Nigeria. It will be constructed with bricks of HOPE pledged by individual contributors worldwide. As well as being a centre for arts education, it will also house the Kambani Foundation for disabled artists & disadvantaged children.
Latest census figures indicate that there are nearly two million disabled people in Lagos alone. There are far more in Nigeria as a whole. The centre will be a welcome development to bring attention to the plight of the disabled and the disadvantaged in a system that needs more advocacy for disability rights.

The centre will be built between 2010 & 2012. Bricks of HOPE cost £5 and can be purchased on the web from now until the centre is completed in September 2012. The campaign will close when the target number of bricks are pledged (500,000). Bricks will have the name of the buyer and their location inscribed on them (if desired).
The campaign is bold, especially when Nigeria's worldwide image is bad. This is why we have tried to provide as much information as possible to evidence our commitment to change lives; give HOPE. Click on the youtube links at the bottom of the homepage to learn more about the impact of our work. You can also view some video testimonials from sponsors and supporters of Kambani's work via the testimonials link above.
One interesting initative linked to the Centre for HOPE is the 'London Knife Crime - A Fresh Approach'. This initiative aims to engage gang culture youth from the London Borough of Hackney to assist in the construction of the centre as part of a planned outreach program. Read more about this in the Living The HOPE section.
